How often have you been asked "How much will it cost to build?" and "How long will it take? In the coal industry these are often the first questions asked when management is considering a new coal preparation plant or other major capital project.
Coal blending in power stations reduces the cost of generation and increases the availability of coal. Lowgrade coals can be mixed with better grade coal without deterioration in thermal performance of the boiler thus reducing the cost of generation, but there are many considerations before deciding to blend.
